D.Y.N.A.H.

What Is D.Y.N.A.H?

DYNAH is an independent charity that supports and enables elderly people to remain in their own homes and communities.

Where Did D.Y.N.A.H Come From?

D.Y.N.A.H came as a direct result of the ‘Elderly Action Research Project’, funded jointly by North Derbyshire Health and North Derbyshire Community Health Council, during 1993 to 1995. This involved close consultation with elderly people, in order to gain there views on ‘Needs and Concerns’ for service provision.

What Did D.Y.N.A.H Hope To Achieve?

D.Y.N.A.H hoped to set up a project that would support elderly people in many areas of their lives and cut down their vulnerability. The management committee is made up of local voluntary groups. Representative from the three local Councils and Statutory bodies

What Can D.Y.N.A.H Do To Make A Difference?

We work to support people to action services that are individual to their needs. For example, this could be:

1. Senior Link
2. Minor Repairs
3. Safety Equipment
4. Practical Assistance (Home Improvement)
5. Furniture Removal/Recycling
6. Carpet Sales/Fitting
7. Cleaning
8. Decorating
9. Gardening

  • We can address the needs of individuals to gain information or advise from other agencies.

  • We raise the debate around issues that effect elderly people.

  • We can inform elderly people what they can expect of services.

  • We fight to bridge the gap in service delivery for elderly people and other agencies.

  • We work towards protecting vulnerable people who are being taken advantage of.
